When the Cardinals work on special teams at the beginning of their various on-field workouts this offseason, David Johnson has some free time.
It’s strange, the running back admitted, because he had played special teams all his life and first garnered notice in the NFL in part for his work on kickoff returns. But when you are a star offensive weapon whose absence most of 2017 underscored how important you really were to your team, Johnson’s days in the transition game are long past.
When Kirby is doing something else (in that down time), I feel like I am lost, Johnson said.
Johnson’s lost 2017, sunk by a broken wrist in the season opener, left him anxious to get back on the field. The player that gained more than 2,000 total yards rushing and receiving in 2016 with 20 touchdowns has returned to the field and it shows.
Fitzgerald has been here, however. Coach Steve Wilks has http://www.cardinalsnflofficialonlineshop.com/Markus-Golden-Jersey noticed, calling the wide receiver’s constant presence invaluable. Fitzgerald Markus Golden Jersey isn’t too proud to note he’s been around for more of this offseason than most in recent years, and there were good reasons for that.
While Bruce Arians just asked Fitzgerald to be ready for camp, Fitzgerald said Wilks asked early on if the veteran could be a part of this first offseason with Nick Vigil Womens Jersey the http://www.bengalsofficialonlinestores.com/Nick_Vigil_Jersey new staff and offense. But more than that, Fitzgerald said I wanted to start off on the right foot and make sure Kevin knew I was in the fight with him from Day One.
Kevin is Kevin Garver, the team’s wide receivers coach who serves as the assistant receivers coach for the five seasons when Arians was head coach and Darryl Drake was the wide receivers coach. The two have grown close over the years. Considering Fitzgerald was already a Canton candidate when Garver arrived as a 25-year-old with no NFL experience, it’s a remarkable relationship.
